Kendrick Lamar is a hip hop artist representing Compton, California. He recently released his second album titled “GOOD KiD, M.A.A.D City” which made it to #1on the Billboard charts. This poster was created to continue to promote the success of his album by creating a variation of the actual album cover.
This poster was also entered into a contest for Creative Allies for the design with the most votes would win an autographed copy of the album from Kendrick himself, a chance to meet him and of course bragging rights. Although it didn't win, thanks to great friends and family who voted and supported me to acquiring 200+ votes.

The actual poster in context.
The main spec of this contest was to create a poster showing Kendrick Lamar & GKMC in vintage style so I decided to mimic those old photos that are aged but still have great value and meaning behind it.The placement of his face reflects how far he's come from his past to where has successfully placed himself now. Bold typeface choice compliments the design while not taking away from the poster as a whole.
