"This is the sequel to “Repeat or Learn”.  “Rewind” now brings us deep into the story. We started outside by the street looking up at the sign and now we take a journey to the inside of the store. The project was created over 400 hours that spanned months. Designed and created at 8k resolution every detail was specifically designed to be seen at the highest level of quality. This digital art piece was also designed with physical real life components as well. Original Blockbuster Store VHS Clamshell with all custom label designs as seen in the “Rewind” art. Inside the VHS case is a Digital Display that is Signed & Numbered. There is an Augmented Reality Print Wallet Hard Drive - Plays Animation via AR, Interactive QR code, Contains Encrypted 4K and 8K animation. Custom designed Store Membership Card. All inside a custom Brilly branded packaging w Magnetic Lid. Upon opening the custom packaging, it is audio reactive and will play sound when lid is opened.
400+ Hours
Over 400 total hours spanning across months were put into the creation of “Rewind”. This piece was designed and created to feel like a living and breathing place. At a certain point it became too easy of a concept to just keep populating the scene objects and graffiti. This didn’t feel natural. It needed to feel like a used space that had gone past its glory days but still a place of business. One of the most challenging parts to this scene was to create enough clutter and grunge to make it feel worn and slightly unkept but still remain a functioning store.
8k Resolution
“Rewind” was created in 8k resolution. Every model & every texture was specifically designed to hold up to the highest level of visual quality at 8k pixel resolution. The scene was designed to bring you back in time and give you that nostalgic feeling but at the same time feel slightly like an alternate sci fi future, similar to the vibe created for “Repeat or Learn”.
