Digital Artwork: Portraits & Anatomical Studies
These are a series of portraits I did studying various techniques using photoshop and procreate. I aimed to see color as flexibly as possible and worked diligently to get the "feel" of the person I was making as I completed each one. All completed in Photoshop.
I used only the lasso tool and a limited palette to create this mastercopy of "A Girl With a Pearl Earring" to see how far I could use abstract shapes to create a cohesive and recognizable whole. Photoshop
I used a multitude of brushes to create a realistic hand portrait, using crosshatching techniques I had learned years previously via colored pencil and pastel pencil studies, as well as texture brushes in order to give a semi-realistic but anatomically correct feeling to this -- preferring sharp edges and a variety of colors to create a realistic skin-tone. Photoshop
This was an anatomical study I completed in procreate in order to get a feel for animal skulls (in this case a coyote) and used  variety of brushes to create texture and give the piece character.
These are a series of details, close-ups, and process shots of my various portrait studies, showing my stages of what I go through before I finish the final project. They are far less detailed and unrefined but show how I develop my pieces throughout my personal process.
