Being a book nerd with a penchant for graphic design, I, naturally, have many opinions about book cover design. And instead of complaining, I decided to conceptualise two ranges for Penguin Classics. Using the classic Penguin orange and light blue, as well as iconic fonts, I designed one ‘Map Edition’ range for books set in iconic places (such as The Count of Monte Cristo’s Marseille) and one modern, typography-focused, almost brutalist ‘Block Colour Edition’ for modern classics from the mid- to late 1900s.
