"Pineapple"
Is a five page silent comic that was made during a workshop with Scott McCloud in Dec. 2019 at "La galeria Roja", Spain.

The workshop covered a lot of themes connected to comic books. From what a comics is? What are its connections to a story? How to convey a clear story in a sequence of pictures or drawings.

Near the end of the workshop we had to come up with a short narrative (and in my case it had to be connected with a pineapple) and try to express the story in a visual manner.

At first...
I had no idea where I wanted this short comic to go. Actually didn't know where to start form...
I knew a couple of things firstly this was just an exercise, so I shouldn't take it too seriously. Secondly I was having a lot of fun during my stay in Spain.

So I tried to make a mix from these things and gradually came up with the designs of the silly characters. Afterwards some sort of a plot was lurking in the back of my head...

During...
the process of drawing the 4th page and I was thinking to myself... here we have aliens, dinosaurs and people during this time but something is missing... and that is when the "pineapple" twist came to my mind.

So I was like, "Do I have the time to do it...?"
"No, not really..."
"But should I do it?"
"Definitely!"
At the end...
I was wondering what tools should I use, what kind of artwork do I want to integrate in order to complete the story visually.

...So I wanted it to look stylized and cartoony because I wanted to add to the feeling of the story. This impacted the designs of the characters and the environments.

But also I wanted to look somewhat serious in order for the twist have a bigger impact. This determined the tools I used - Ink with pens and brushes. And after that I used water color for the grey areas to complete the drawings.
