Since the Ottoman Empire different musical genres has found their place in our culture.  Alafranga music also known as polyphony, enters through our borders due to developing relations with the western countries. Divan Alafranga project helps the musical reflections of our ever developing relations. Divan blends the polyphonic works of western civilization with the eastern culture and covers them with traditional eastern instruments. The 12 piece traditional Turkish orchestra lead by composer, conducter and opera singer Murat Cem Orhan is presenting to the audience 10 very well known French compositions covering a wide historical period from J.B. Lully to E. Satie with Turkish motifs and sounds.
