COCOONS
This series of watercolour on paper, started of as a simple drawing, imitating a real cocoon, with transparencies and the beginnings of a butterfly visible inside. That first one is not here, because as the series progressed the tone changed a bit, and the cocoon started to mean something else.
Now the idea was to show life, movement in still form, blooming and blossoming energy.
As the cocoon walls crack open we start to see its inside, we understand what's been forming in its womb.
The last one may not look quite like a "cocoon" but that's also true in real life, isn't it? Now the walls have disappeared, new life found, cities booming, the horizon far in the distance.
