Branding Exercise
This presentation was created for a class called Creative Concepts. It is a course from the J-COMM program at the University of New Mexico. For this project, I chose to brand a fictitious tattoo company based upon what I thought that should look like, having been both a client and an artist in the past. I also thought it a great vehicle for combining my business and design sensibilities. I thank you for taking a moment to look!
My students and myself had an extraordinarily quick turn-around time! We had just over 5 weeks of a condensed and completely asynchronous online course to complete this development.
Please look at their work also! (links below) It is amazing!
The Logo Solution
Business Card
A minimalist approach to this design allows emphasis to be placed upon the company logo and the information critical to both the business and the clients

The back panels

Deconstructing the methodology
Logo Exploration - Logo portfolio
Different configurations were considered before arriving at the final design.
Adobe Dimension Work
Adobe Dimension makes it convenient and fun to create 3D visualizations or merchandise!
Tattoo After-Care was an obvious choice...
A 'Stash Bag' or 'Medicine bag' is also a wonderful option for customers/clients and can be used for many purposes. They will keep your brand in the minds of everyone that sees them!
Gift Bags also do a great job of expanding the view of our brand. These items are easily customized and a lot of fun to design!
The re-fillable insulated water bottle is another commonly used merchandising item that will probably be around for much longer than consumables and so should be considered worth the additional expense. This is a slick item that many customers and clients can justify spending a little extra on as well.
Photoshop Visualizations
T-shirts are another fantastic way of making your brand visible to new clients and customers. Creating visualizations in Photoshop makes it possible to sell your shirts before incurring the expense of making them and then wondering if they will sell!
Photoshop & Photography
We started this whole thing by taking photos and choosing images from stock photog libraries. I eventually decided on using ONLY the images that I took using my digital Nikon D3300. It is still a very capable unit!

These final images are just random pieces I made while exploring and thought it might be fun to share with the Wonderful Wide World:
The power of Adobe Illustrator can bend dumbbells and wrenches!
This image was used to create the pattern t-shirt shown further above on this page...
This final image was created using a manual form of tessellation. It all started out as a couple of insect wings!
Thank you for taking a moment to view this presentation!
