【單車藝術行動】作品故事 — 地球移動者

長途旅行的意義在於過程還是終點？
十一個國家，三百二十五天，一萬四千公里，靠著一輛腳踏車從德國慕尼黑移動到中國北京，最後回到臺灣的家，就像是一場朝聖之旅。即便旅途並沒有特別艱辛的磨難，但過程之中所見所聞的人們，就像長途旅行的風景，留下深刻的記憶。
拓展腦海中的世界地圖
到德國打工度假的主角，因為男友工作的緣故，決定從慕尼黑騎單車到北京。為什麼興起這個念頭?要從第一次的外國生活說起，就像我們習以為常的想像，當人們討論起「國外」這個概念時，指涉的無非是日本、美國、中國，或是其他常見的文化圈，而主角第一次到國外打工度假時，在澳洲接觸了許多歐洲人，腦海裡的世界版圖才逐漸打開。
在歐洲期間，碰到了更多來自不同文化圈的人們，像是阿富汗、伊朗、土耳其等等，進一步喚起想到這些地方看一看的想法，也恰巧因為另一伴工作地點的緣故，開啟了一場回家之旅，同時，也回到這些朋友的家鄉。
在這段近十一個月的旅程當中，對於主角而言就像是當初說服母親的說法，「這是一條大師走過的路，是一條朝聖之旅」。
更寬廣的方式
在第一次討論手稿的過程中，主角說出了相當重要的一個建議「既然我已經踏出旅程了，我就不要這些封閉的包袱」，於是邁可大幅修改原本的草稿，變成現在這輛三輪車，盡可能地減輕重量，只放上必要的行李和地圖，就像是一台能夠騎到任何地方露營的腳踏車。當騎上自行車，所擁有的是更寬闊的視野，更開放、方便的交流方式，不必停下來，藉由控制速度得以輕鬆自在地欣賞世界。
或許，這趟旅行真正留下的，是從此被拓展開來的胸懷。

Eleven countries, three hundred and twenty-five days, 14,000 kilometers, moving from Munich, Germany to Beijing, China on a bicycle, and finally back home in Taiwan, is like a pilgrimage. Even if there is no particularly hard ordeal during the journey, the people who have seen and heard during the journey are like the scenery of long-distance travel, leaving deep memories.

Expand the world map in your mind
The protagonist who went to Germany for a working holiday decided to ride a bicycle from Munich to Beijing because of his boyfriend's work. Why did this idea arise? Start with the first foreign life. Just like our usual imagination, when people discuss the concept of "foreign", they refer to Japan, the United States, China, or other common ones. When the protagonist went to work abroad for the first time, he met many Europeans in Australia, and the world map in his mind gradually opened up.

During my stay in Europe, I met more people from different cultural circles, such as Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, etc., which further evoked the idea of taking a look at these places. It also happened because of the location of the other partner’s work. Traveling home, at the same time, returning to the hometown of these friends.
During this nearly eleven-month journey, for the protagonist, it was like persuading his mother to say, "This is a path taken by a master, and it is a pilgrimage."

A broader approach
In the process of discussing the manuscript for the first time, the protagonist made a very important suggestion, "Since I have already embarked on a journey, I don’t want these closed baggage." So Michael drastically revised the original draft and turned it into this car. The tricycle, reduce the weight as much as possible, put only the necessary luggage and maps, just like a bicycle that can ride anywhere to camp. When riding a bicycle, what you have is a wider field of vision, a more open and convenient way of communication, you don’t have to stop, and you can enjoy the world comfortably by controlling your speed.
