Something big is what I'm after now
Artist book, film photography, cyanotypes on paper, stitching, audio recording.

On theme: I define the topic as ‘Time’. Yet the moment I am immersed into something, time does not bother me at all. Yet Time as such ceases to exist the very moment I start thinking of it. Whenever I think of it, there is nor a thought, neither the moment itself. Thus, Time may only be a field of interest to me if it is perceived as a game – a game of endless possibilities. Following my recollections on Time I dwell in between fields of Buddhism, ever-expanding Universe and endless processes. In line with associative thinking, I depend upon permanent change and owing to cyanotype, stitching and sound, I proceed with my own game of possibilities, concluding in a book-map that consists of all the potential variations which may be revealed through the confrontation with the audience.
Artist book is separated into five sections that are marked by a red mark on cyanotypes, each symbolizing a different way for developing an image (film, drawing, schemes, pure cyanotype, luxography). Soundtrack refers to a stitching process that is displaced from the regular book binding process and emphasizes the fact of the book being unbound.

The project was created in 2021 in Helsinki and presented in two shows: VAA graduation show in May 2021 in Vilnius (Titanikas exhibition hall) and as a personal exhibition in September 2021 in Vilnius (Galerija Akademija).

I want to express my sincere gratitude for University of Arts Helsinki and Vilnius Academy of Arts as well as Matas Dūda, Rūta Spelskytė-Liberienė, Tukka Kaila, Tatu Tuominen and Erja Huovila for helping me out carry this project.

Documentation images are taken on 35mm film.
