beBella Skincare Products Design

This past Summer of 2021, Galderma (Cetaphil, Proactiv) invited me with an RFP to pitch my capabilities, design and strategy concepts for redesigning their Differin line of skincare products. Such an honor, and quite intimidating since I have a boutique studio, and typically agencies are invited.

I did not win but was in the top 3 selections. Galderma was very kind and gracious in their rejection letter. I was so proud of what I accomplished and felt like I won anyway.

Because I had spent hours and hours and hours of research, design, and building my pitch deck, I couldn't let my package designs just sit on my iMac. I wanted to showcase my efforts, however due to disclosure agreements, I could not show what I presented to Galderma. But, I can alter them and make them my own. This is what designers do in their downtime :)
I came up with the name beBella (which I didn't know existed until afterwards - oh well). beBella translates to: be beautiful. Beautiful skin for mature women.

The line is directed towards women of mature aging skin, who want to age gracefully, yet maintain their complexion. Or repair any damage done due to the sun, blemishes, or any other skin conditions.

I chose a beautiful, soft color palette that is very appealing and feminine (and also colors I love!). The package design and concepts I created for Galderma Differin is similar to this clean, minimalist style and based off of 5 product type buckets: cleanse, moisturize, treat, repair, and protect.

But I took the design direction to what would appeal to me as a product junkie myself. When shopping for products, I notice colors first - maybe because I am a designer and I love color. Then I notice the logo and branding, and then go into each product's features, function and description. I know most look for the product type first, so I made that stand out to catch the eye.

The paper stock of the boxes and bottles would have that fuzzy, soft touch texture – and the logo and text on the front would have a spot glossy treatment to enhance the overall experience.

Please do not copy my ideas and designs. I put A LOT of work into this. Thanks!
