NOLITE TE BASTARDES CARBORUNDORUM

Ilustração que desenvolvi para o trabalho de conclusão do Workshop Lettering Ilustrado, ministrado pela artista Lygia Pires.
Para este trabalho escolhi a frase "Nolite te bastardes carborundorum", da autora Margaret Atwood, em "O Conto da Aia".
Me inspirei muito nos aspectos visuais da série, que acho incrível tanto pela história que ela conta, quanto pela sua estética.
A frase, que na verdade "não existe" e que foi inventada pela autora, pode ser traduzida para o português como
"Não deixe que os bastardos te transformem em cinzas".

Illustration created for the final project of the "Lettering Ilustrado" Workshop, taught by the artist Lygia Pires.
For this piece I chose the phrase "Nolite te bastardes carborundorum", by the author Margaret Atwood, in "The Handmaid's Tale".
I was very inspired by the visual aspects of the tv show.

Texture with black letter calligraphy I created for the background's piece.
It contains some typical sayings of the fictional society of Gilead, in the story created by Margaret Atwood.
