Introduction
Mr Price Group Limited is a retail company based in South Africa. The company was founded in 1985 and since then the company has always stuck ahead of the trends (almost as if they had a time machine). Mr Price has an abbreviation for the group called, "MRP" and the MRP Group consists of MRP, MRP Sports, MRP Home, Sheet Street, Miladys.
Colour Palette
The colour palette for the advert was taken from MRP App colours (Crimson & Upswell Red). I needed 2 more shades of red, so I used a Colour Generator (https://coolors.co) to help me break down the tones & shades of the 2 reds (Carmine & Rosewood). Since pure white (FFFFFF) is too "white" for video when being used on big shapes, I used a light grey (FAFAFA) so our eyes is at comfort when viewing the video - it's bright enough to watch in dim light.
Final Video
Video 1: this video is to be viewed in portrait mode
Video 2: this video is to viewed through desktops / laptop screens
Created in Adobe After Effects; The video dimensions are an Instagram Story-based size, W x H = 1080 x 1920 at 30 frames per second. I attempted to create this project with 120 frames per second however my machine couldn't handle the frames. I then opted for 30 frames so I could work and view edits smoothly.
The final video is at 1080 x 1920 however, when posted onto Bēhance, its size is rather large. I created a 1920 x 1080 dimension @ 30 frames per second > enlarged the video > added a blur > duplicated the video and brought it back to its original size > added a drop shadow and exported the video for Bēhance.
Visual Storyboard
*Please view the storyboard from left-to-right*
Before any composition was made for the final video, a written storyboard was made. The written storyboard was then put into visualisation in Adobe XD. Intricate objects were created on Adobe Illustrator CC and were converted to SVGs.
The SVGs was brought into and edited in Adobe XD. The reason I used Adobe XD for creating the board is because it assists with position and colours efficiently. I export the art-boards from Adobe XD and use it as typography, colour and position assist.
After Effects Timeline
After creating the visual storyboard on Adobe XD, I then moved onto Adobe After Effects, where I brought in my assets and created the 7 compositions & 10 scenes within the comps. Once each composition was made in terms of typography, colour and position; I then moved on to animating. I started with just animating everything roughly, once I got the movements in check, I started fine-tuning the animations by easy-easing the keyframes, adding subtle blur movements with opacity and easy-in features.

I never used any effects from the 'Effects & Presets' panel, I manipulated Position, Opacity & Scale Keyframes with graphs, to add a subtle stop/start to animations instead of an instant stop/start. Once all compositions were done, I put them into another composition a.k.a 'MainComp' with background assets to assist with subtle transitions from one composition to another.
