UX Prototype for a Disaster Response Application

The Goal
A picture says a thousand words, but an interactive prototype is what really gets conversations started when it comes to application development. The objective here was to convey how a credentialed user would go about looking for hospital beds during an emergency, such as a terrorist attack or mass shooting. In such instances, it is critical for information to be intuitive so available beds could be identified as quickly as possible. By having a big picture view of where there are vacancies, this would allow disaster response teams to plan where to bring patients and what facilities to avoid.

The Outcome
These mockups allowed my client to be considered for a large multimillion dollar project funded by a government agency. Having visual assets to accompany our proposal helped everyone at the table ideate scenarios where this application could be useful. This prototype drilled down to specifics that were not initially requested, which conveyed that this effort was through not only at a high level, but down to the minute details, and it helped build trust with a key potential partner.
