Tadeusz Polak's Square Competition / 1st Award

From a field of concrete, functioning as a parking lot, to an iconic placemark.

Deriving from Gdańsk iconic tenement house row, we managed to create an unique site in the Tricity's space. A meeting place shielded from the instable Polish weather. Everyone can find their place at this square; Scouts (which have their HQ there) can hold their ceremonies; Nightlife can flourish after sun is set; Children can play in the shallow water while their parents can have a moment of peace, escape from the busy city.

We've hidden the cars underground, using the autonomus car park system. The square's space is now a shared zone, giving back this place to people on foot - while still allowing essential vehicle traffic.

Our revival concept allows this unique place to stay alive all year long - no matter the season.
