The moods of lightning photography are a conflicting ride between exhilaration and defeat. For every successful outing, there are many others where the brilliant threads of plasma fail to materialize or do so off-frame. The occasional successes are the ones that keep me coming back for more. The play between photographer and unforeseeable dance of charges in the atmosphere leads to an unexpected artistry. Ultimately you try to guide the outcome while having no choice but to surrender full control of the shot you are after. These are a few of my favorites over the years.
