AFTD (The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration) had updated its branding and was about to launch a redesign of their website—‚their first time in a responsive format—and needed someone to update their print collateral and to create new responsive email templates for them as they transitions from Constant Contact to Mail Chimp.
Updating the print collateral was fairly straightforward, but their existing emails were in serious shape (tiny, tightly spaced type and postage-stamp size images). They wanted to stick with Mail Chimp’s drop-and-drag, WYSIWYG email builder, so I had to find and adapt existing Mail Chimp templates rather than create fully custom designs.
Once an overall structure was defined, I set about creating distinctive new banners for each of their email communications. I also kept the body design dead simple, since non-designers would be responsible for implementing the templates once they were approved.
