WRITERS' CIRCLE, UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, MONA
Club Logo ‘Arm of the Writing Region’

Design
The club logo comprises a 2D compilation of two hands crossed at the wrist, holding a mic in the left, and a pen in the right. This image is contained within a circle, the words “UWI WC” displayed on the lower interior arc of the circle.

Symbolism
The use of hands crossed at the wrist is a subtle reference to the popular hands crossed at the wrists with chains motif. It reminds us that Caribbean literature is and will remain shaped and influenced by our major historical event of slavery; through our literary alignment to its requirements, or through our rebellion against them. The pen and mic are instruments we use to conduct our trade and are used in the place of a quill and scroll to represent the current era of our presence as a Writer’s Circle.
variations of the design in different color grading
A promotional video was created, also by Aaliyah Lunan, to highlight the organization's transition into a new era regarding their branding and visual identity.
