A new diversity and inclusion event was created for one of our brands, but we didn't want to call it "Diversity and Inclusion". Instead, the team came up with the name "Empowered" with a tagline about an inclusive workplace. This got the point across without having to do what everyone is doing.
I was drawn to the 'power' portion of the word and wanted to make it stand out, to emphasize the power that those being honored display, without it becoming too separated from the 'Em' and 'ed' or creating a difficult to read logo. I added the multicolor outlines to give a slight nod that this for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, without plastering a rainbow on it and calling it a day. The final product shows exactly what the event is and who it celebrates, without being stereotypical.
I also created a version that could be placed on a dark background, and a grayscale/black and white version.
