Fjallabyggð fagnar þér

Create a website to attract new residents two Ólafsfjörður and Siglufjörður, two more or less remote towns that got recently connected by a tunnel and subsequently merged into one neighbourhood called Fjallabyggð.

Together with the copywriter and account director a concept was created under the name Fjallabyggð fagnar þér (Fjallabyggð welcomes you). A townsperson was appointed to become the main contact for anybody that wants help with moving. And I set to work on designed a logo and a style guide for the website and any other media assets.
The two town shields had in one way or another to be reflected in the campaign logo.
I first started with what literally connects the two towns. In the middle of them is a fjord with on each side high mountains, both with a tunnel through them. Starting from there and simplifying it each step of the way lead to the final version of a fish jumping out of the water. Combining the fishes from one shield with the circles of the other.
The website is currently still under construction.
