A illustrated commentary on purebred dogs:
The overall theme was about paradox, illusions or how polar opposites coincide together in our shifting society. This theme inspired me to start a conversation about dog breeds and purebred standards. I chose the bull terrier, as visually they are a bizarre reflection of their past ancestors. In 100 years, inbreeding has completely morphed their internal structure, causing health and bone issues for future generations. I wanted to convey this startling message that we tend to not see on the surface, but only by looking back can we improve dogs quality of life.
