Ethical Pornography

For this project, I chose an issue that I am incredibly passionate about--ethical pornography. This ties into other important problems in American society, such as the treatment of sex workers, and the difference between trafficking and actual sex work. This booklet, when printed, would serve as an informative foldable on these topics.

For my illustrations, I chose to use fruit as a symbol, both for its visual similarity to the subject matter and for the idea of consumption: something women are subjected to on a daily basis. The images, on the other hand, are of predatory animals. This is to convey the idea that we are biting back, taking back our spaces and being heard.

It is always a point of mine to talk loudly and openly about things not normally spoken about. The idea behind this is that when we as a collective don't talk about something, it becomes tied to shame, and then we are left with young people who feel abnormal and alienated. This is why we need to talk about these things if we want to create a better world.
