Redesign of RB Sportline

Rebranding & Redesign
of a gym/fitness eCommerce company

This is my major projects that I´ve been working on during 2013.

The project includes more than just graphics such as copy, business development, SEO, Social Media, Marketing.

RB Sportline is a company that has been active since 2006 and selling a wide range of products within Sport & Outdoor. Due to heavy competition the latest years something needed to change.

The problem
We realized that the problem was that the core of the company was not that strong anymore. The assortment was confusing and the graphics needed an update with some thought behind it.

The process
With little to no experience in redesigning or developing a business, this project has given me a quick crash-course in what parts needed to succeed with a webshop in these competitive times. There has been many fails and learnings. The biggest learning is the overview of a business and how many skills are needed to be successful.

Do your research, do it right!

The most challenging part was that there were no guidance in terms of what the new design should cover. Which led me and a colleague to update ourselves on the latest within Page Optimization, trends and best practicies in Checkout flow, learn more about UX, Mobile-first design, Load Speed, Navigation flow and I know I have forgotten something. All this also having to referred back to SEO best practicies.

Learnings

1. Doing eCommerce properly today, is not a one-man show.
2. Running a successful webshop requires constant tweaks and testing.
3. Work with short sprints and deadlines makes it achievable.
4. Base your decisions based on data, track everything(Analytics)!
