St. Pete City Website

The City of St. Pete marketing team re-designed and re-organized the entire city website. The new stpete.org look and feel was refreshed, the back-end technology was fixed, but most importantly the sitemap and content was completely overhauled to maximize and prioritize the user experience.
The site's re-organization prioritizes user access to services and information. No longer are pages organized by department, as is the norm for municipal sites. Instead, a user-centric navigation uses a mega-menu to present topical pages to prevent users from having to dig for content. The team created intentional user flows to allow different user groups to find the same page, as necessary (i.e. relevant Parks and Rec information is accessible through both visitor and resident user flows). Additionally, headlines have personality, and re-written copy reflects St. Pete’s brand and voice.
In addition to a more lively and inclusive aesthetic, the new site features: a holistic events calendar that showcases all events happening in the city - including public meetings, city council meetings, festivals and more; a “St. Pete Stories” section on the News Releases page that provides a space for storytelling content; and an accessibility overhaul that ensures the site is easy for everyone to use.
Since its launch, the site has been extremely well-received by staff and constituents. We’ve received feedback that customer service calls have been minimized, and the community finds the website much easier to navigate.
