These wine bottles were a final project for a class in printmaking.
Multi page, type-heavy CD face insert. We were required to use 3 single-spaced pages of text about Miles Davis, and tried to make the type interesting enough so that the purchaser would want to actually read it all.
Hand painted stamps as an ode and in the style of Kandinsky.
Design Magazine Project - for more pictures see project on previous page.
In 2008, I was hired by Simmons College to create the promotional material for the Undergraduate Conference. This was an event where students set up presentations of their studies and projects alone or in groups. It gave them exposure to visiting hiring managers and also was useful in resume compilation. These are two of the many posters. The initiative was to make the conference seem like something fun and also explain what exactly it is because the name is a bit enigmatic.
Informational Poster project - explains the Bauhaus. Front, above and Back below.
These postcards were to advertise the performance art duet that a fellow student and I did for the new college president's inaugural celebration. I did a statue-like meditative sewing in front of one of the costumes I'd made for the upcoming installation of my larger project "Group Couture". The fellow student told musical stories with puppets and her violin.
"February": This is one of the tracks used for this performance - other songs from So Percussion's album "Amid the Noise" - were used throughout the installation.
The guestbook for "Group Couture" - in this interactive installation, as participants approached a black papered room with music and projections glowing in it, they witnessed images projected on the walls - three years worth of pictures of friends and relatives wearing the same black dress. In the spirit of dressing people in the same garment, when they entered the small, black room they were greeted by costumed assistants and myself. In the room was a rack of costumes made for more than one person to wear at the same time. I dressed groups of participants and then took their pictures. I took 11 rolls of film. The pictures will not be developed until 2017 - ten years after the event. The following are stills from a video that my advisor, Bridget Lynch, compiled.
In 2008 I was hired to create the promotional materials and signage for the annual Communications Dept. student show. I worked in cooperation with illustrator Jordan Beyer.
Type Book: a hand-made accordion-style book that focused on visually presenting the basic aspects of type and how to spot four classifications.
"Web Book" project - a book that presents a different project - the portfolio website - in hard copy.
This independent study with Prof. Ellen Grabiner involved four interviews edited into a humorous, 20 minute documentary. In the spring of 2010, it was featured in the Boston GLBTQ film festival.
