Nuh’un Gemisi

Yaşanan yüzyılın herkeste uyandırdığı yoğun bir duygu var; ceza mı bu yaşananlar? Afetler, yıkımlar, savaşlar, isyanlar ve doğru mu kutsal kitaplarda yazılanlar... Gerçek olabilir mi?

“ve Tanrı Nuh'a dedi ki: Bütün beşerin sonu geldi; çünkü onların sebebiyle yeryüzü zorbalıkla doldu ve işte, ben onları yeryüzü ile beraber yok edeceğim. Kendine gofer ağacından bir gemi yap. Ve ben, işte ben, göklerin altında kendisinde hayat nefesi olan bütün beşeri yok etmek için yeryüzü üzerine sular tufanı getiriyorum; yeryüzünde olanların hepsi ölecektir” (Tekvin, 6/13-22).

Eğer insanların yaşadığı benzer bir cezalandırılmaysa bugün, o zaman yeni bir dünya düzeni de kurulacak demektir. Ben, kurulacağını umduğum bu yeni düzende; iyi niyetli, güzel kalpli insanların doğrulukla yaşayacağı bir kara parçasına oturması için, elimde kalan tüm atık seramik parçalarla bir gemi yaptım. Kalan parçaların her birini ayrı ayrı sırladım ve daha sonra raku pişirimi yaptım. Raku pişirimin ardından, parçaları biçimlendirilmek istediğim gemiye uygun olarak yeni nesil hızlı yapıştırıcılar kullanılarak bütünleştirdim.

Zaman gemimin; yeni, yaşanır, mutlu mekânların oluşmasını beklemenin, uzun ve zahmetli yollara çıkmanın zamanıdır, şimdi…



Noah’s Ark

There is an intense feeling provoked in everyone by the century we live in: Is all what we have been through a punishment? Disasters, destruction, wars, and riots... and what is written in the Holy Book; could it be true?

“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood... And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.” (Genesis 6/13-22).

If what people have been experiencing today is a punishment, then it means a new world order will be established. For this new order which will be established soon, I believe, I made an ark with all the waste ceramic pieces I have so that it lands on a piece of land where kind people, people with beautiful hearts will lead honest lives. I glazed each of the left pieces and then fired them in raku. Following the raku firing, I put the pieces together with new generation instant adhesives to build the ark I wanted to create.

Now is the ark’s time; now is the time to expect new, livable and happy places to appear; and now is time to set out on a long and challenging journey, now…
