This lightbox was created as part of a third-year course on lighting and colour. Requirements included designing and photographing an abstract interior lighting environment in response to a given mood.
peace·ful
/ˈpēsfəl/
adjective
1. free from disturbance; tranquil.
"everything was so quiet and peaceful in the early morning"

The final model combines both the warm, golden sunlight of early evening and the cooler early morning stillness.  The walls of the box, painted a cool blue-gray, play quiet host to two materials of interest.
The semi-specular pink fabric, highlighted beautifully in the sunlight, creates a moment of pause as it appears to be caught in motion.  The wooden picture frame adds both warmth in colour as well as the inherent familiarity and comfort of natural materials, the picture glass adding sparkle and depth to the space.
The box was constructed with circular cut-outs in the top, large enough to create a well-lit interior but spaced to maintain pockets of shadow.
