Young Lions Print Design

This print ad won the Young Lions Print category at the recently concluded Creativity Week Pitcher Awards in Nigeria.

The Brief:
The brief was to create a print ad to encourage private companies in Africa to become active participants in the pursuance of good governance in their respective countries.

The Idea:
My creative partner, Oluranti Akerele and I agreed to create a culturally relevant ad idea using visual cues our TA would connect with.

So, while chatting we remembered a trending news bulletin some years back in Nigeria about a politician who claimed a snake swallowed millions of Naira he had actually embezzled. That sad yet hilarious story inspired our visual idea for this competition. We creatively placed that infamous snake on a line graph commonly used in the business world to showing profit margins.

We had barely twenty-four hours to crack this brief but thankfully we got help from our friend and a creative genius, Mariam Omoyele who illustrated the iconic snake on our final entry.
