PropellerGirl vs the new pollution

PropellerGirl vs the new pollution
Acrylic on canvas, 1.5m x 1.5m, 2021
Second in what is now a projected new triptych about PropellerGirl.
PropellerGirl has evolved from a character in the manga style (back in 2004, Cf. http://www.sholby.net/propellergirl---political-works.html) to become more of a function than a person. Thus, it seemed logical to make her evolve even more in style and/or, here, skin color.

In this new instance, PropellerGirl is battling with the reality of pollution. However, this time, the issue proves to be too much of a challenge for her optimism. She fails and is drowning in the cesspool of consumerism, naked and with her wings gone (although those will be nailed to the wall next to the painting if this is ever shown anywhere) her usual weaponized flowers now wilting and dying.
