"... in the old days the area was ours... the white people who live here today aren't to blame, it was their parents, their grandparents... in the past I used to fight - all my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren - but today there's no need, they have the land, it's done....but it was difficult... one day I'd like to talk with Cristina... tell her everything that happened, the truth... not what it says in the books... lies... but today I've found peace, I think a lot... day by day I find more peace... I don't fight anymore for land, do you know why? Because my life is nearly over... each day, one day less on this earth... each day more that I live is a day less for me...
... I'm really proud to be Mapuche... of course..."

"....antiguamente la villa era de nosotros...la gente blanca que están no tiene culpa porque fueron sus padres, sus abuelos... en el pasado yo luché - todos mis hijos, todos mis nietos y mis bisnietos - pero hoy ya lo tienen, ya está... pero fue difícil.... un día me gustaría hablar con Cristina.... a contarle todo lo que pasó, la verdad...no lo que dice en los libros.... mentiras.... pero hoy por hoy me quedo tranquila, pienso mucho.... y hoy por hoy me quedo tranquila.... no lucho mas para tierra, sabes porque? Ya mi vida se va... cada día, un día menos en esta tierra... cada día mas que vivo es un día menos para mí....
.... me siento muy orgullosa de ser Mapuche...mas vale...."
