Os 16 artigos da coletânea abordam o ensino e a pesquisa da informação e estão divididos em dois eixos principais, “estudos e documentação” e “da organização do conhecimento à apropriação de saberes: ensino e a pesquisa da informação”. O livro faz uma compilação a respeito do desenvolvimento do ramo, iniciando com as contribuições de Jean Meyriat para a profissionalização da área e as reconfigurações dos estudos e práticas do campo informacional, tais como os eixos referentes à adaptação do conhecimento perante as transformações socioculturais e as formas de disseminação da informação.

The 16 articles of the collectanea approach the teaching and information research and are divided in two main axis, "studies and documentation" and "from the organization of knowledge to the appropriation of wisdom: teaching and information research". The book compiles the development of the field, starting with the contributions of Jean Meyriat to the professionalization of the area and the studies and informational field practices reconfigurations, such as the axis that refers to knowledge adaptation in front of sociocultural changes and its ways to spread information.
