Icarus Taverna Brand Application
BACKGROUND
Icarus taverna is a fine dining restaurant in downtown Kingston. The developed brand identity has three parts that can be adjusted to fit a variety of appropriate applications. The restaurant has many opportunities to display their identity.
OUTCOME
The menu design was the obvious starting point. The logo and colours were designed to match the elegance of the establishment. Applying blue lines with the same thickness as the type adds visual interest and connection to the brand.
The storefront signage demonstrates how the single colour white logo is very legible from a distance. The additional logo that appears on the storefront glass window draws attention to the eye level passerby.
The apron design is meant for the back-of-house staff who are only seen by customers in brief glimpses. The pure white apron reflects the cleanliness of the kitchen.
The rubber stamp has many possible uses. A catering box or to-go container is comprised of white cardboard. The black stamp can be used on all generic white boxes to identify the restaurant without needing printed containers. The stamp could also be used on documents or invoices as desired.
The website serves as a style template for all the subpages. The clean layout gives the restaurant the framework to update their site with the latest information and images.
Additional elements were developed for use on the web. A profile picture was made with the icon contained in a square. A tiny favicon featuring the icon fits nicely in the smallest applications.
