In Strasbourg , the "Saint-Sépulcre" is a well-known restaurant in the area around the cathedral. The new owner of this "Winstub" (traditional Alsatian restaurant) had the wish to take advantage of a slight renovation, in order to rethink the atmosphere of the place, which was dozing the last years.

The project wished to be discreet, by respect for the location and habits of the customers, but also by the extent of the works to do. It consist by the definition of an architectural thread in order to highlight and make coherent the existing, while remaining strongly in local tradition.

Thus, the walls have been covered with wooden structures, inspired from Alsatian half-timbered house, offering to the decorative objects, already present or newcomers, many frames highlighting them. These structures have also the role of partitioning the space to create more intimate alcoves, and are adorned with traditional materials evocative of the region. Antique plain tiles descended from barn's roof ; enamelled tiles evoking the weaving of the kelsch ; chair cane work used as moucharaby ; or curved copper tubes acting as gallows, from which hang lamps with generous curves, reminiscent of copper stills, and offering a rich light, glossy and intimate.
