5 Cool Apps on Android to Try

While it’s easy to just stick to the tried-and-true apps on Android, it’s fun to experiment to see if there’s something new or better. The only way to do that is to keep a good eye out for interesting apps. While some could be new, others may have improved over time and begun to attract a following of enthusiastic users. Here are 5 cool apps on Android to try out.

1.Ria Money Transfer App

The Ria Money Transfer App is a useful one to send money virtually anywhere, to anyone with a name and an address. It’s quick to set up and use and makes it much faster to hurl money around the world quicker than you can say, “Slow bank transfer.” Using the app is a snap too. Setting yourself up on it is a doddle, and receivers can be paid into their local bank or go to collect the funds. When you’re traveling or you have friends or family who are, then it’s good to have more money transfer options in your pocket.

2.Lingvano

The Lingvano app is designed to teach anyone American sign language. This is done in small sessions that visually take you through the basics to get you feeling accomplished in no time at all. You can learn a broader set of words with the vocabulary trainer. Learning to sign whole sentences is also possible – the app builds you up to that ability too. There is a free app version, plus a paid monthly or yearly plan for the more committed.

3.Simple Notepad

The Simple Notepad app is a basic text editor for your dependable Android phone or tablet. It is capable of finding and opening text files (TXT format). Editing the file is easy enough or you can create one from scratch too. So, it’s not just a viewer and is usable day-to-day too. A built-in wizard shows you the basics, like how to create your first note and more. The extra features are more limited, but the app intentionally avoids overcomplicating a simple notepad app. Nevertheless, there’s both a free and paid version to get more advanced features and support from the developers.

4.Signal

While apps like Skype, WhatsApp, and Zoom are getting all the attention in chatty circles, Signal continues to push ahead with a basic set of features that just work. For privacy advocates who don’t like the idea of governments, their employer, or major corporations like Facebook that bought out WhatsApp reading your messages, the end-to-end encryption built into Signal is a real blessing. The app aims to be a private messaging client. However, it also is used as an SMS client directly integrated with your smartphone if you wish. Or you can continue to use the SMS app that you currently enjoy. The development of this app maintains a simple user interface. It is also cross-platform with a Windows desktop version to make typing easier.

5.National Park Service

The National Park Service app provides a useful map that covers every designated National Park in the USA. The map is interactive and includes many items of interest including where guided tours are available. The information provided about different parks partly comes from Park Rangers that work there. People who love to visit them may find this app useful.

We hope that one or two of these apps will be interesting to you. They’re each cool in their own way.
