Y-Bridge Art Festival Logo

A logo created for the Zanesville Y-Bridge Art Festival hosted by the Artist Colony of Zanesville. The logo had to be flexible and clear enough to be seen in a variety of sizes and resolutions, from thumbnail to billboard use and there was a three color limit. My main inspiration for the Y-Bridge ArtsFestival Logo that I designed was the bridge itself. The Y-Bridge is something very unique to my home town, and so I wanted to create something that would reflect that. I accomplished this by having a piece of the bridge in the logo and elements of our Y-Bridge, from the cement base to the railings and lights stands, replicating the bridge. Something I have learned during my studies at UC Blue Ash is to utilize negative space to convey a message. I applied this method to my logo and used negative space to create the Y shape in the logo so it appears as if the viewer is seeing the bridge from a Bird’s-eye view. Additionally, I wanted the logo to maintain a clean and simple look but was also aesthetically pleasing to the viewer.
