ZingChart Website Redesign

ZingChart is a JavaScript data visualization library that was established in 2009. In the ten years since its launch, the website hadn't received a major design update and brand development had taken a backseat. My goal with this website redesign and brand update was to make it easier for visitors to find what they need (especially in the docs section), and to bring the ZingChart brand up to speed with its competitors in the data visualization space.

I began this project by gathering user feedback via Intercom and email conversations with existing and prospective customers, by doing competitor research, and via FullStory and Google analytics research. Based on my research, I decided to prioritize communicating to people at various levels of technological or web development proficiency on key pages, since I realized that some of the people visiting the website weren't just web developers, but also marketing managers and people in other non-technical roles. I did this by providing content entry points on key pages that guide users depending on their contextual needs. However, research also showed that some pages—like the docs pages—do need to be geared towards developers. The caveat is that this includes everyone from beginners to experts in web development, which can be a considerably broad spectrum.
