I always enjoy it when a project allows me to indulge in my personal interest in new and interesting ways. Part of the same project that spawned my anger info graphic but focused more on health and your heart, these wine labels where designed around the concept of having a daily glass of wine, which is supposed to be good for your heart, presented as a health potion you would see in a video game.

 

Assembled in InDesign with the assets created in Illustrator and Photoshop I feel  the hardest part was the actual bottles. I could not finalize the design until I knew just what kind of bottles I would be using so I had to purchase several different kinds and test out different label shapes and bottle combinations until I not only found a pair that work astatically, but also functionally.

 

Once I had the bottle and label shape figured out I could continue with the design. Though I wanted to mimic a health potion you would see in a video game, I had to give concessions as it needed to also be a functioning label to include information required by law. Ultimately I feel I struck a good balance.
