When at work I had been faced with the question of how to properly organize the work of my department, which was in actual chaos, I decided on Redmine. This is a completely free open-source job management and bug tracking tool with support for Gantt graphs, imagining deadlines and improvement on multiple projects concurrently. Written in Ruby on Rails, it works as a cross-platform option. The product has been in evolution since 2006. The developers of the platform don't take money from customers, but everybody can donate some amount to the growth fund of this project or help with ideas in development and design.  To solve our troubles we needed a method for tracking bugs, events and incoming requests, i.e. we needed to automate Bug Tracker. We also wished to emphasize job direction to some extent. To develop further, we need additional analysis of incoming data, what is happening in sections and the way it affects the organization as a whole. We have to restrain the internal budgets within that we enter or, more frequently than not, do not enter. They also need to be somehow examined and handled. Naturally, it's much better to do all of this in a single system - in particular, it's convenient for the management, i.e. for me. That is why picking Redmine was a good choice for me. It fully covered all the requests at the time and systematized the work of this section as a whole.
