Man in the Moon

The famous 1902 film "a trip to the moon" is the inspiration behind this piece, as it is the movie that the moon image was derived from. The moon in the eye is a direct reflection of the moon in the sky, to give the impression of watching the moon. The idea behind this concept, is that what we see shapes us. As the girl watches the movie, it is reflected within herself, and her eyes, because our perception shapes us and our mindset. In addition, the red curtain revealing the eye alludes to the theater aspect, in which the girl is watching the movie.  I also felt the moon was appropriate, as it involves the eye of moon too.
