Refugee Art Initiative | 2020
Rebrand | Logo Design | Custom Icons

Since 2017, Refugee Artisan Initiative trains women in sewing and jewelry-making along with providing them with a supporting community to achieve a stable and fulfilling living situation in the Seattle area.

In 2020, as the pandemic took hold of the world, RAI pivoted to design masks and donated over 10,000 of them. This brought a lot of media attention on them, which is when they decided that it was time for a rebrand. Their visual identity at the time didn’t reflect the route they wanted to go towards anymore: a community of strong women partnering with large scale companies and small businesses for white label and custom designs.
With their new branding, they wanted their business partners to be proud and excited to showcase their logo on shared products as well as being attractive to consumers regardful of ethics, worker’s rights and sustainability. Diversity, women empowerment, sustainability, impact and belonging were the key words which enabled us to design this new brand identity.
