The idea to use barrels in a furniture piece came to me after i visited some factory and saw a huge pile of them. When asking about their “ destiny ” I was informed that they are being recycled for metal. I immediately begun to think of furniture ideas that combine a barrel. This concept couch was designed to fit in a biggger space due to its larger dimentions then a standart couch, to overcome the size issue I used the inside of the barrels for storage purposes. The main material i chose to use besides the barrels is cnc machined wood sheets.The combination between the metal barrels and the wood is contributing to the overall “industrial-ellegant” look I was going for. The barrels are painted in metalic colors which give them a very asthetic look but still keeps the industrial aspect.
