Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) PSA Photo Ad

The purpose of this project was to devise a photograph that would directly impact the chosen problem. With the least amount of text communicate a public service message. In addition to the challenge, the context of the confinement given the covid-19 pandemic limited group work and the access to photography studios and resources.

Researching the web, I found that the major cause of infant mortality in Canada is suffocation by accident named Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Although in practice this cause is generally an accident, I wanted to reflect the event as a crime, with the purpose of contrasting the representation of an innocent space (crib, bed) with a sad scene of a crime. Additionally, by using a hard light  I seek to portrait that crime scene photo as if it was taken by police forensic services.
