Brodo is an illustrated book showing a fragment of the friendship between a cat and a girl, a conquered proximity, the clash (and the meeting) of two fundamentally different worlds. The issue that the book aims to explore is the relationship to the other, to the different, when that lives very close to us, seeming infinitely distant.
Is it possible for humans to deeply understand an animal? To feel real empathy towards them? To find any access point to perceiving the colours of their world? Is it possible for a pet to understand the context in which it is integrated and its human companions?
In an attempt to explore these questions, the book brings us a feline perspective on the human world. Initially Brodo, the protagonist, draws a very clear boundary between himself and "the other". But over time, and by dint of sharing spaces and moments with this "human", Brodo realises how insignificant the differences can appear in the face of the richness of friendship created. Brodo figures out how easy it is to find similarities starting from a place of love and curiosity. The same journey is experienced by the girl and shown in the background, through illustrated but hidden details.
