Amy Schumer Has Denounced the Need to Stay Slim in Her Interview With Hunter McGrady

The comedian cum actress Amy Schumer has called out the media for their over-emphasis on body shape and has called the judgments pertaining to it as “negative.”
Yahoo! Entertainment has reported what Hunter McGrady has told Kerry Justich about Amy Schumer’s opinions on mainstream media’s obsession with slender bodies.
Schumer, who is currently 39 years old and is soon about to reach 40, has worked in projects like “I Feel Pretty” that has dissected drawbacks in mainstream media, the thinking among the general public, and the impossible standards that the fashion industry has set for the young girls.

Hunter McGrady  explained that though she and Amy Schumer have followed each other for years on several social media platforms and have been a quiet admirer of each other’s work, the video call set up by her was her first official conversation with the famed and fierce comedian Amy Schumer.

Amy Schumer explained to Hunter McGrady  that reaching the age of forty is nowhere near to her concerns right now. She revealed that she has always been underappreciated for her looks by her peers, and she isn’t really losing much by reaching the age of forty. Of course, all the beautiful actresses of Hollywood feel like their looks are everything.
Amy Schumer admitted in the interview that losing her looks is not much of her concern.
Schumer once again alluded to the fact that the industry unfairly judges people based on their looks and often overlooks the other skills and talent they possess. One of the biggest examples has emerged recently about the singer of the “Skyfall,” “Rolling in the Deep,” and “Hello,” Adele, who was unnecessarily hyped by the mainstream media simply for her weight loss and not for anything else.

Amy Schumer explained in the interview that the reason for her weight loss has been the disease called “Lyme,” with which she was diagnosed in early 2021. She has lost a few pounds, and instead of asking about her health, people are congratulating her and are very happy for her. She has explained to several people that she is more worried about her health than anything else, and the weight loss or gain is really just because of her health.

Hunter McGrady  also added her words to the debate and said that she isn’t fond of the memories when she was way thinner than what she is right now.
What McGrady  and Schumer really wanted to point out was the stereotype that people have that if a person looks slim, then she is really healthy and happy. They tried to explain through the conversation that it really isn’t the case and is really a “negative” misconception.

Schumer also added that more than her, the mainstream media is more worried about her weight, and she considers it really “negative.” She denounces such judgments from the media and its sister platforms.

Amy Schumer has recently filmed a documentary titled “Expecting Amy,” in which she has described her pregnancy struggles while giving birth to his son, Gene Fischer, who is now perfectly healthy.

She added in the interview that the documentary was sort of a get-away from her world because she had been so sick and extremely frustrated with her health.
She filmed the documentary to once again point towards the fact of the pressure a woman feels while giving birth to a child and how the reality is far more severe than what has been shown.
