The 3D and compositing work for the zoho.com spot was one of our more ambitious projects early on. Working alongside Chris Blankenship and his team at ProductionFor, (who brought us on board and were responsible for all the other elements of the spot), as well as the folks over at Marketing Matters, we were tasked with bringing the cubes that make up the ZOHO logo to life in the real office environment.

We only had a couple of weeks to go from character creation to finished product, so we knew we had to stay organized. We started with character sketches from the team at Marketing Matters then modeled and rigged the four characters. After getting the footage from the shoot, we did our 3D tracks and rebuilt the scene geometry for the character animation (to catch shadows and reflections), and finished the final composite in Nuke with its great tools for working with multipass 3D images.
