THE SCAR

The scar is a comic project aiming to highlight healing power of small animals such as dogs as well as address the obscure dognapping issue in Saigon. The project also questions the possibility of replacement in human-dog companionship.
Regarding to artistic goals, as an author, I am trying to tell the story visually, experiment with different types of ink textures and pay full attention to every panels I made.
'This is a story about the encounter of a wandering dog and a boy who has just suffered from a great loss of his previous pet. The story depicts different emotional stages of the boy through his isolation, encounter with the new life, acceptance and the decision of caring for others again. Simultaneously, the story highlights healing power of a dog and raises awareness of dognapping issue.'
