As a student in my Digital Design Studio, I was asked to develop and design a functioning website for a city. This website was to be informative to a consumer who was looking into visiting that city. I choose Venice Beach, because I had just visited this city and felt that my experience would be well suited for this project.
The concept was to develop a informal relaxed website that had local dialogue and created a since of personal adventure. The notebook that is at the center of conveying the information is reflective of a journal kept on a travel person. One in which they would capture their journey and findings. To further capture this sense of personal adventure seeking, I developed downloadable PDF's that would be for things to do and things to see. Vacationers could download these and print them off, fold them and place it in their pockets and pull them out to check things off as they go. Included is also a place for note taking so they can record their own personal memories just like a journal.
