After a long 3 year wait I finally returned to Glacier National Park during the summer time. Why is this important? The Going to the Sun road allows you to access the highest part of the park by vehicle to explore many areas, and is typically fully open from mid June to the first part of September, as in other months this amazing road is snowed in. Even though I am in my mid 50’s, I always feel like a young child coming to Glacier, and this excitement built up until I landed to see solid rain. I would have to wait a day and a half before heading out and driving to to top of Logan Pass. One of the benefits of a rain storm is left over clouds, which I prefer for most of my images, and I was not disappointed. In what was a perfect day, besides the hundreds of tourists on the trail, I was able to hike out about 2+ miles, or 3.2 Kilometers to the Hidden Lake overlook. After setting up well past the heavily crowed lookout area I was very pleased to see mostly even light with lush green grass, wildflowers, trees, and the amazing view of shining blue water of Hidden Lake. Please let me know what you think of my images and I would appreciate your comments and support.
