Golden autumn in Nechkinski National Park

Golden autumn in Nechkinski National Park
The end of September is a quiet and beautiful time. The heat is gone, but it's still warm enough to sleep in a tent. The mosquitoes have disappeared. The nights have lengthened and the days are shorter. The water has become cold, clean, and clear. Bright yellow leaves hang on the trees, they have not yet been blown away by the autumn winds. The water level in the reservoir has dropped, exposing the rocky shoreline and opening up access to previously closed locations.
