Kash logo's story
Kash is an amazing aspiring Lebanese hip-hop artist. I had a special occasion to work on his logo. This one was a bit especially as Kash came to me rushing for his project to be done in just 1 night (12 hours to be precise). He also had specific desires with his logo which the most interesting in all of them was "I want it to be extremely merch friendly, and I would want it to be able to be made into a necklace as well." This is what made it a little more challenging (the necklace part).
How I made this logo
Kash is not just a rapper, he is also a music composer and sound engineer. Considering all of these aspects, we directly started to discuss the elements of his logo, the first thing we agreed upon was to include his name in the visual, no matter what the visual would be.
I then sketched quick ideas roughly until we agreed on one of the 5 sketches that I did for him. (1 hour was already evaporated and I only had 11 hours left to complete the project.) The visual element is simply what combines all of his musical things, it's an audio wave. (For those who don't know what an audio wave is, it's a kind of digraph that appears when you record any kind of audio on any kind of audio software.) I chose the audio wave to seem a bit sharp to match Kash's stage persona, we didn't make it too sharp because if it was about to be made into a metal necklace anytime, it could be harmful and it's none of our intention to harm any wearer by any means. I solved that issue by simply adjusting the very sharp edges. (5 hours were over to make all these perfect, 6 hours left to finish the project).

What about the name?
Next, it was time to put his name inside of it. We first had to agree on the font and that was simple and quick since we both thought that this specific font gives a kind of music feel. So I just put that name inside the shape that I just created and had to empty it up so it could be just empty when it's gonna be printed or made into a necklace. I thought it would be great if there's a wallpaper or shirt or any merch with a background so the name will have the background in it as it will be transparent and the necklace will just be way better with the name being subtracted. But here came the little obligation to be extra careful to make it all stick together so we had to edit the shape of certain letters so it all stick together with the shape. (This cost us a total of 2 more hours, 4 hours left to finish that logo.)
So what's next?
The last steps were to add the slogan underneath it. Kash already had his slogan in his head and we just added it with the same font used for his name to keep the same overall mood. We then agreed on the logo and it was time to color it. Kash wanted it black but with some kind of shine to it. And this is exactly what I gave him. Want your black to shine? It will! Just like I hope you will in your career. The all-nighter that we pulled to get it done was unforgettable. Even though it was rough and quick I still did an awesome logo (as he judges it) and had an awesome experience!
But did I make it on time?
Duh! You bet I did! The shinny effect took me less than an hour to complete and apply to the logo and the slogan. So I finsihed the whole gig not only on time but even before it! I finished it in almost 9 hours!
